The politics of sexual sadism

Nearly twenty different police enquiries are now being conducted into the sexual abuse and murder of boys by senior establishment figures from the 1960s to present day.

How could this have happened in the first place and how could it have gone on for so long without being stopped?

The answer is these activities were carried out by the most senior figures in the land – politicians, civil servants, generals, royalty, church leaders and senior police officers themselves.  Many times the horror stories leaked out but there was a general conspiracy to keep it quiet, not least by the newspapers and TV companies of the day.

It should also be remembered that unsubstantiated stories of sexual abuse were small concerns compared with the external war being conducted against the Soviet Union and the internal war being fought against home-grown terrorists.

The Boy Who Listened To Rocks is a novel of that era which explores the disturbing predatory instincts of the human male – how MI5, MI6, the Catholic Church, Soviet spies in Downing Street, the energy crisis and nuclear weapons all become intertwined in the dark and secret world of those who derive a sadistic pleasure from controlling us.
