Child sex abuse saga - another one off the hook

The Establishment continues to contrive to protect itself.

Lord Janner who faces charges of 14 indecent assaults on a male under 16 between 1969 and 1988; two indecent assaults between 1984 and 1988; four counts of buggery of a male under 16 between 1972 and 1987; and two counts of buggery between 1977 and 1988 will be let off.

The reason the CPS is declining to prosecute is because His Lordship is allegedly suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease.

Readers of this blog will be aware that the CPS has ‘previous’ for  delaying the prosecutions of those it favours in the old boy network.   Both Cyril Smith (MP) and Leon Britan (QC, ex-Home Office Minister and also a Lord) were allowed to grow old before serious charges were considered against them.

The ‘Alzheimer s Ploy’ has been used successfully before to dodge prosecution.  In 1990 Ernest Saunders, then the Chairman of Guinness PLC was sentenced to five years imprisonment for fraud.  He hired a number of private doctors to diagnose him with the onset of Alzheimer’s Disease, was released from open prison after 10 months, and then made a miraculous recovery.  Since then he has been appointed Chairman of the multi-national petrol credit card company Harpur-Gelco - not bad for a man doctors claimed was losing his mind.

Expect the Alzheimer's strategy to be used many more times in the coming months.

An attempt was made to prosecute Greville Janner, QC, 20 years ago, long before he, supposedly had Alzheimer.  His money and his many friends in the law, at the Director of Public Prosecutions Office and in Parliament managed to railroad the investigation.

How it all started?  The year is 1975: oil crises, financial crisis, nuclear missile crisis, sexual perversion - normal.
